Native.
I’m thankful for this stunning season, and it’s falling reminder that as beautiful as this world is, it is not home. I’m thankful that this broken place is not our native land – this is not where we belong. We were made for more.
“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” C.S. Lewis
“All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland.” Hebrews 11:13-16
“When I get where I’m going / there’ll be only happy tears / I will shed the sins and struggles I have carried all these years / and I’ll leave my heart wide open / I will love and have no fear / Yeah when I get where I’m going / don’t cry for me down here.” {Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton}
